World Elephant Day…This year, I would like to speak up for the captive elephants. Many of the wild calves like Bhunte may not be knowing that their fates are written by us. We shall demarcate their forests, abduct few of them, ride on them, click the most wild selfies, use them for our festivals, clap when they shall stand on their hind legs in the circus shows; we shall, hence, do what pleases our senses. And at the end of the day, worship the statue of same elephants ‘Lord Ganesha’ and pray for prosperity for ourselves! That prosperity which shall again aid us in torturing some more innocent animals like them. Well, these stories are painful, a painful story that voiceless animal can ever be able to explain to us. I request, from deep depth of my heart, to everyone in my friend circle and beyond to respect this animal, the most intelligent animal! And avoid any kind of torture to them.
