Bhunte loves playing with his trunk. Bhunte wonders less about how his trunk might have evolved. This versatile tool is a fusion of his nose and his upper lips. Made up of more than 30,000-40,000 muscles-trunk is his proud possession. With no animals having the trunks in his home, Bhunte sometimes walks proudly showcasing and swinging his trunk left and right. And, he still remembers when he was a few weeks old- he always got startled by what this hanging stuff was all about. Bhunte’s mom can smell water from several miles away with her lovely trunk.  She can also lift the heaviest of fallen trees that come on their way to the water bodies, making a way for Bhunte to cross. Bhunte is learning how to use his trunk from his mom. He smells. Smells everything near or far to him. With a fingertip on his trunk, he plucks a flower delicately and offers it to a hovering bee. He takes a shower on his own from the puddle. He smells those ripened fruits and even the caterpillars inside them. His mother and aunts swim keeping their trunks up in the air. Well, his aunt told him that he is not yet ready for this one. When he is frightened and wants to be loved, Bhunte smells his mom and wraps his trunk around hers.
