Bhunte thought that not every calf are as lucky as him. Recently a newborn, Chikkamari,  died in Hassan (Karnataka, India). Chikkamari, a calf, was born to Lakshmi. Being in a human-production habitat- Hassan- around 70-80 such elephants live in that landscape hiding from humans during the day and raid humans’ crop at night. This act of such elephants could be influencing their lifestyle and perhaps, their reproductive fitness, no one knows. And, time could only answer. Bhunte is not happy to hear about Chikkamari. He thought he would have met him someday!
