Bhunte was very excited. This was his first trip to the place, Africa, where his ancestors originated. He packed his bags and started his journey. He travelled to Addis Ababa and to Kruger, the forest where he hoped to meet Bako’s relatives. As he was marching boldly in the dry forest of Kruger, he bumped into the tall bamboo-like legs, Bhunte was scared. He slowly stretched his head up and whoa! he saw a smiling Giraffe. “Hey fella, you seem new to my place, by the way, I am Lambu. Where you from?” And a little chirp from his back “Lambu, who’s this guy?” A tiny bird with a red beak perched on the back of Lambu. Bhunte with a slight tremble- trumpeted “Hi and namaste, I am Bhunte, I came from the Asian forest, wanted to meet Bako’s relatives. But, I am glad that I met you, Lambu and what’s your name birdie?” Bhunte stretched his trunk towards the bird and smelt. “Well, I am Chari, an oxpecker, I help Lambu relax by eating the delicious ticks on his body”. She flew and sat on Bhunte’s head and started looking for the treats. Bhunte got tickled and started rolling on the ground. All of them laughed…Lambu and Chari became his best friends and they took him around Kruger.
