Bhunte: The baby elephant

Remember, when Bhunte troubled some groups of bees by plucking the flowers and running away? And his mother scolded him for disregarding the most hard-working insects? Well, he disobeyed his mom again!

As the dusk was appearing, Bumblu, the bumblebee, was wrapping up his work by collecting the nectar from the last flower of that day. Bhunte saw Bumblu and was excited to meet his old friend. So he ran towards the flower, trumpeting, and uprooted the entire plant. Bumblu was not in a jolly mood. He completely ignored Bhunte’s presence and filled the nectar bag and flew.  Bhunte chased Bamblu and kept trumpeting to force him to play with him. Bamblu turned around and buzzed.

He said “Bhunte, I am not in a mood to play. You know, we are going to get ‘extinct’ from our home soon. I will miss you then. The changed heat and rain is wiping us out. I feel sad for myself and my friends. Sorry. I will not play.”

Bamblu turned his back and flew away.

“Extinct” a what? Bhunte was curious. He ran to his mom and said that Bamblu ignored playing with him and he said something called extinct. Bhunte’s mom pulled him closer and said “Bhunte, humans’ greed has affected the air we are breathing in. They have made it warmer, Bamblu and his family cannot resist such temperature. In addition, they use chemicals and some devices which are killing many insects like Bamblu.” Bhunte was sad.

Bhunte thought he, his families and relatives were the only one affected by humans. Bhunte wanted to help Bamblu…
